This is probably my favorite tool in the garage. I’m a new homeowner with more yard work than I care to admit. I was using my friend’s gas powered weed wacker for awhile and gave it up because it hurt my back and arms. It was a pain to use in general.
I picked up this new WORX WG163 GT 3.0 as it had great reviews and the price was right where I had wanted it to be. My yard is a decent size and I am able to cater to my entire property with the two batteries that they include with it.
I would recommend upgrading the string that comes with it to something a bit stronger. The one it comes with works but it could be tougher. I really enjoy being able to reach any place in my yard without restriction.
It’s much lighter than my friend’s gas powered trimmer. Overall I am incredibly happy with this purchase and use it weekly.

My husband picked up this Greenworks 13-Inch 4 Amp Electric Corded String Trimmer and it has made life so much easier when it comes to yard work. The performance of this device is much nicer than what I am used to.
The auto feed for the trimmer string is flawless and is much nicer than the push feed models I’ve dealt with in the past. It slows the operation and spits out the string. I was overjoyed that the feature worked so well.
The ability to turn the head into an edger is a great feature as well, I’m now able to keep my pathways nice and tidy and the sidewalk looking great. We have a nice long extension cord that I use to reach any spot in my yard, front and back. Not worrying about the gas running out or the battery dying has been a relief. I would highly recommend this item to anyone looking for a great weed wacker.

It was time to get some yard tools. I was borrowing them a couple times a month when I needed them but it was becoming a hassle. I looked around at different yard tools I needed and landed on the BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX String Trimmer / Edger and Sweeper Combo Kit.
The price was right and it comes with both a weed wacker, an edger and a leaf blower. I was worried about the run times as these are battery powered devices and was pleasantly surprised. The batteries last long enough for me to hit my entire yard and the cordless feature lets me reach areas untouchable with a corded leaf blower or weed wacker.
I have a smaller yard and this combo definitely does the trick. The cordless string trimmer is great to get into the hard to reach spots that my mower won’t touch and with fall in full effect the leaf blower has been an almost priceless addition to my home. For the price and performance I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat.

I always choose Makita, their tools in my opinion, hold up well and always give that extra umph. When I saw that Makita came out with a battery powered electric weed eater, I had to see what this was all about.
I ended up picking out a Makita XRU15PT1 and wow was I impressed. This weed wacker has a BL brushless motor direct drive system that provides tons of power when you need it most. If you are used to electric string trimmers, I doubt you will find anything better than this model.
As opposed to gas powered weed wackers, this beauty only requires a battery, so no more going to the gas station when you run out of gas which is a huge benefit. Because it is battery powered the noise level is much lower as well so you wont wake your neighbors when tackling your early morning yard work. It has a straight shaft and is lightweight compared to other models that I’ve used. I highly recommend this yard tool, I’m never ever going back to gas or corded weed wackers again.

I recently became a homeowner and was struggling with the weeds and lawn that would grow up the sides of my new home. The lawn mower only gets so much and the corded weed wacker that I would borrow wouldn’t reach to certain sides of the house.
I decided to pick up an EGO Power+ ST1502SA and let me tell you, this thing rocks. It offers so much more power than I had thought a battery powered weed eater would have produced. The trimmer head fits in all of the hard to reach spots and the lithium ion battery that this thing comes with, holds its charge for a long time. Long enough for me to hit my whole yard and then some.
Not being restricted by a corded electric weed wacker I am now free to chop down weeds and grass that has overgrown throughout my yard and flower beds. It doesn’t weigh that much and makes the entire process simple. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone that wants to keep their yard up to par.
